Our Mission
We develop a wide range of neurotechnologies to capture and interrogate neural activity. Our flexible, transparent neural interfaces seamlessly integrate with tissue while simultaneously allowing optical access to the brain. This combination of powerful technologies allows us to probe neural circuit activity with incredible precision.
We use these tools to study how circuit computations give rise to the brain’s ability to intelligently manipulate neuroprosthetic interfaces. Our goal is to leverage the natural learning mechanisms of cortical circuits to develop high-precision, modular, and efficient brain-computer interfaces. We believe that by revealing how cortical networks and microcircuits learn the artificial task of BCI control, we can inform the design of clinical neural interfaces and advanced decoding algorithms.
